Cloudy Red Amber Stone

The heart of this stone is filled with what collectors call "Bony" or "Royal" Amber. This rare white substance is actually composed of millions of microscopic air bubbles—up to 900,000 per square millimeter. These bubbles were trapped 40 million years ago as the resin foamed under the heat of the ancient sun, creating a "cloud" that is frozen in time.
